Liam’s story is a common one among street cats, and it’s quite disheartening. The feline was born in 2016 on the streets because his mom was unwanted, and he was unwanted too. Despite facing various hardships, Liam managed to survive and learned to take care of himself. He discovered that by snuggling with people, he could earn some food and love.
Luckily, Liam’s luck turned around when he came across a quaint shop that welcomed him without any trouble. While he wasn’t always given a warm reception, the owners would sometimes provide him with a cozy place to rest and a hearty meal to satisfy his hunger. Despite being a street cat, he was appreciative of every bit of kindness shown to him. Unfortunately, his luck ran out when the shop moved away, leaving Liam to fend for himself once more.
Sitting outside his old home, he was excited for a meal, some warmth, and a comforting hug. But instead of receiving these, he was met with shouts and shoves, and his hunger only grew worse. He knew he had to leave, but there seemed to be nowhere for him to go. After telling his story, the team at Cat Shelter Felix understood that he needed their help, as no one else would take him in. They drove him 200 kilometers to an unoccupied apartment owned by one of their employees in Belgrade, where he stayed until someone could come and bring him to safety.
Liam is doing well health-wise, as he has undergone neutering and veterinary check-ups. Moreover, he tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Although he likes to bask in the sun on good days, he prefers lounging on a cozy radiator. He’s making up for lost time by living his life to the fullest.
Initially, it was hard to identify him as the same cat he is now. But, the significant change in his appearance shows that providing a secure meal, a peaceful atmosphere, and freedom to wander around can do wonders for cats. It’s delightful to observe his healthy and satisfied state with his shiny winter fur. This adorable feline serves as a reminder of how love and proper attention can improve the well-being of our furry companions.
